I actually just concluded the war last night! I took Macau, Gaizhou, and the remaining provinces in West Guangdong (I already held Hainan). Cost was 33 war score, which I achieved after taking over most of southern China. By the time they accepted peace I was at Wuhan & Nanjing. https://twitter.com/BUTTER1337/status/1044244562150125568 …

The casualties were staggering, nearly 200k on each side. Most of mine were from attrition, most of theirs from defeats in battle. To ease up the drain on manpower, I consolidated my regiments after the war ended. That brought my army from nearly 400 divisions to abt 260.

It worked, and by the time I called it a night I had fully recovered my reserves. Started rebuilding my forces with 50k new recruits and a flotilla of new heavy ships...working on building religious unity and adding new colonies, it's time for a few years of peace.

On my commute today I loaded up 114k men onto the Imperial Navy and sent them across the Pacific to Costa Rica. I'm preparing for several more wars against European colonial powers, and the Dutch are the first on the list.

The primary colonial powers besides myself are: - Portugal - Britain - Holland - Castille Norway and Scotland have a few colonies too, but nowhere near the extent of the aforementioned countries.

Portugal is mostly present in the Americas, holding much of the Caribbean. Britain has colonies in the Eastern USA and Argentina. Holland has Louisiana, Colombia, and New England. Castille is in Canada and Brazil.

Britain and Portugal are important targets for me because they're colonizing in my backyard (read: Indian and Pacific Oceans, as well as South Africa). Holland is mostly in the Americas but also holds the Galapagos, which I refuse to let them keep.
