An uber driver the other day was telling me about how he uses it whenever he's on vacation in another state or country, and it occurred to me that we never hear about uber's impact on the rental car market

Uber definitely doesn't pay enough for any gain on what your spending, although in some cities you can get paid 2x to 8x the regular. In Orlando I've only seen max 3x boost

? I'm talking about from the passenger's perspective--how many people who would otherwise rent a car on vacation just call ubers now instead?

Recently went on vacation throughout Europe, only ever used Uber, just not when we had to go between countries. Feel like Uber is really only a short distance service, even though its still common to take long distance Ubers.

yeah, definitely better on short distances bc of how quickly the price ramps up I used it abroad in Costa Rica this spring for a couple longer trips...expensive but cheaper the only other option (taxi)
