LUNCH BREAK UPDATE: ya it's looking increasingly hopeless--not only does Ming match my numbers in the field (and typically exceed them in any one location), they also have WAY better generals than I can manage...I'd need at least 2-1 advantage to beat one of their armieshttps://twitter.com/380kmh/status/1041698418253545473 …

Balance of power--you can see what I mean about geographical advantage here...Ming can bring a greater force to bear on a particular location much more easily than I can; I have to push inwards from 3 directions at once (and lots of my men are tied down in colonies) pic.twitter.com/huCY6HXKJS

After several failed attempts I've had to completely abandon the "knock out Pegu, shore up Ayutthaya, invade by land" strategy Will see how far I get focusing on destroying enemy ships...but it could take a long time, and if Ayutthaya drops out before I'm done, well 😬

Pegu, fwiw, seems like a pushover--they sued for peace when I conquered their capital, so maybe it's still worth it to try and push them out of the war quickly. Problem is that puts me too close to Ming troops for my liking...

The only way it might be worth it is if Ayutthaya can keep Ming occupied while I go for a quick knockout. Is that even possible? Probably not. But will have to find out when I get home

I've had to move back from the 1600 autosave (which was untenable) to the 1599 autosave (which is...a little better, but not great) to try and find a working strategy. If I keep coming up short, I'll have to backtrack to before the war entirely 😔

I just have one question about your map: does your colonial garrisons serve any purpose? You might want to transport them to the front, seeing your numbers and your difficulty setting you will probably not get declared on

Swatting native rebellions mainly. The New Zealand army is the only one that's clear to come back to the front, but most of my transports are busy in the war already

sometimes disbanding is the good solutions, and you mean revolts from provinces you colonize, not from provinces you conquered? If so depending from which DLC you have you can genocide natives, killing any risk of revolt (you lose almost nothing)

the MP hit isn't worth it imo--a couple thousand more troops aren't gonna swing the war

ya, proportional to population--it costs nothing to take out, say, 100~1000, but when you've got provinces w 7000+ it'll make a difference

Switch your native policy to the one that gets rid of native uprisings (at slowed colony growth though)
