After several failed attempts I've had to completely abandon the "knock out Pegu, shore up Ayutthaya, invade by land" strategy
Will see how far I get focusing on destroying enemy ships...but it could take a long time, and if Ayutthaya drops out before I'm done, well

Pegu, fwiw, seems like a pushover--they sued for peace when I conquered their capital, so maybe it's still worth it to try and push them out of the war quickly. Problem is that puts me too close to Ming troops for my liking...

The only way it might be worth it is if Ayutthaya can keep Ming occupied while I go for a quick knockout. Is that even possible? Probably not. But will have to find out when I get home

I've had to move back from the 1600 autosave (which was untenable) to the 1599 autosave (which is...a little better, but not great) to try and find a working strategy. If I keep coming up short, I'll have to backtrack to before the war entirely

Ming doesn't really have any "smaller armies" is the problem--what you're describing is very much their strategy. Tried one defensive engagement at a fort...outnumbered Ming, fought them to a draw, and at the last minute, w victory in grasp, Pegu sent reinforcements and I lost
