I think the best way to explain EU4 (besides the ever-appropriate "spreadsheet simulator") is that it's a game about learning and taking advantage of feedback loops

Anyway--my point is that EU4 is *ultimately* about learning how every variable ties together; all the military strategy in the world will fall on its face without the resources to carry it out

I've done some research into HOI4 and am certainly interested, but haven't bought it. Haven't looked into vicky2 but have heard a lot and it sounds good...I have CK2 but haven't really played it yet

Have you played Victoria 2? Arguably deeper than EU4 since it doesn't utilize "mana" mechanics and you get to build railways!
