Not sure I like the idea of turning locations into a commodity
we already do this dude (and have for centuries; this is what pilgrimages are about)
Pilgrimages (visiting locations for religious or personal reasons) is different from tourism (turning locations and experience into something to be bought and sold)
what do you think happens to pilgrimage sites on like...day 2
never been to a pilgrimage site that didn't have tons of merch (and people profiting indirectly eg hotels, restaurants)
I don't *necessarily* mind merch or hotels But I hate driving into a city and seeing tourist traps and billboards and just Garbage and cheap crap everywhere
