yes and you don't need to be in the middle of them for them to do their work (and indeed they will do better without a lawn-sized hole in their ecosystem)
yes it not an either/or, but living in the woods is fundamentally something that makes more sense in the countryside than immediately adjacent to the capital city
trees in cities for health benefits of residents =/= a forest
solarpunk yes, but that doesn't mean you're gonna have bears and moose in the streets--it will remain a very different ecosystem from the forest
When it comes to trees, what's more important is uninterrupted wilderness. As for energy, using wind/solar/tidal/thorium can and ought to replace petrochem.
