...since the idea of *earning money* by providing transit is usually alien to BRT proponents. I can't confirm, but I am under the impression that the most lucrative transit operations involve trains, which makes sense bc of how many more riders you can carry in a given corridor.

Good luck! Remember that, while cost control is important, many use it as a pretext to simply disinvest--the lowest cost per rider is no service at all, and anyone concerned with GOOD service has to have priorities other than "spend as little as possible"
