In China, too, you see this tendency: the most heavily populated areas are generally the most agriculturally productive as wellpic.twitter.com/MNuyw9tXjh
Difficult to find maps of agricultural productivity, but I imagine that this rule doesn't apply for the USA or Canada, and probably a few other countries--I wonder if it's a tendency of "from scratch" colonial countries to divorce population centers from agriculture?
