Have you noticed that this hasn't happened so far in any of the countries which tried that route? It's a bit wild to hope that those who under socialism were autocrats will voluntarily relinquish their power...

you say that, but again I can't think of any real-life example of a socialist state that wasn't objectively tyrannical

Most states, "socialist" or not, are tyrannical

Perhaps. My point was that if socialist states have universally been tyrannical, those who rule them would be inclined to cling to their unchecked powers; which might explain why no socialist state I can think of has ever transitioned into a stateless communist utopia.

Collective ownership of capital? Norway owns 71% of the country's enterprise

And neither country is socialist in having nationalized the means of production, which seems like a sine qua non. Norway a) nationalized oil b) nationalized German industry after WWII, but its own citizens have strong private property rights.

https://www.peoplespolicyproject.org/2017/08/05/nordic-socialism-is-realer-than-you-think/ … https://www.peoplespolicyproject.org/2018/07/22/nordic-state-ownership-of-enterprise-is-a-real-thing/ … but this is all still rather missing the point. I don't really care whether country X or Y "counts" as socialist, nor do I care to defend the Soviets. This is the same old boring conversation that happens whenever a convervative

would you say Norway is heading towards abolition of state and capital? or is that step really just unnecessary?
