North Berkeley's surroundings are obscene, Ashby's are only slightly less obscene. Downtown isn't terrible but transitions to SFH far too quickly.https://twitter.com/380kmh/status/1024414000979894273 …

Berkeley: 113k residents, 11.6k per sq mile Cambridge: 105k residents, 15k per sq mile Berkeley: 24,312 daily alights at 3 stations Cambridge: 81,649 daily boards at 6 stations
I'd be curious how much Cambridge subway usage is for intra-Cambridge/Somerville trips (as in what % of trips start and end north of the Charles?)
Good question! Almost certainly higher than the equivalent share in Berkeley...
though downtown Oakland is close to Berkeley; BART is useful for Berkeley to Oakland trips
I don't think I ever rode BART within Berkeley, but I did ride between Berkeley and other East Bay destinations
The layout of the Berkeley stations means that intra-Berkeley rides aren't very useful; you're usually better off on a bus or walking/biking
