only good islands tho...I don't care about Greenland, Ellesmere, various other polar hellscapes...

for islands smaller than Australia, and not inhospitably cold, the largest are: 1. Papua 2. Borneo 3. Madagascar 4. Sumatra 5. Honshu and next would be: 6. Great Britain problem is, many very interesting islands are quite small! they don't show up on such lists...

The list of islands by land area on wiki only gets about as far as Tahiti; a start, but woefully inadequate for my purposes. It doesn't even have Moorea! Let alone some place like Hong Kong

Me too. My fictional island nation is roughly the size of france and iberia and has a temperste rainforest climate along much of its west coast. I love greenland but couod never live there tbh.
