Looking at how to get to Springfield Union Station to ride the new @hartfordline this weekend--I already know it's an hour and a half by foot and bus from my apartment, but if I start in Amherst at 7 AM, it's even worse--2.5 hours; I'd get there at 10 AM

It's a bit of a drive even in your own car--it takes 45 minutes, minimum, to get from Amherst to Union Station. But it shouldn't take much over an hour by transit, even if the only transit involved is buses--that's what schedule coordination is for!

I've looked up visiting some Massachusetts museums outside of Boston metro via transit, and some of the suggested routes are ludicrous. Might as well be trying to get to Mali.

Bus service in this country is based on making riders feel like second class citizens than actually getting them places

Maybe in denser cities. Bus service outside cities makes you feel like you're not any type of citizen at all.
