you walk onto train, you walk off it, and if you are so inclined, you walk around on board it...in good cities, you walk around before you get on and after you get off, too...this is my point, trains encourage walking in a way that cars and bicycles do not

Much of the country/planet is utterly unsuitable for year-round inhabitation tbh. Eg Vegas in summer, Chicago in winter. So we build structures to wall off the inhospitable OUTSIDE
