A city in which "transportation" means being shuttled about, strapped into a seated position like a man on the electric chair, between indoor destinations where you will also sit interminably...a city which transforms us into invalids, with no need for our legs...this is EVIL!

A city is ultimately a CONTINUOUS OUTDOOR PLACE, it is decidedly NOT a mere collection of indoor places!! Americans as a rule utterly misunderstand this, this is a critical reason behind the persistent misery of American cities, where so much of the outdoors is NO-PLACE
