Abolish speed limits and rely solely on road design to inform drivers of appropriate speeds I am 100% serious with this takehttps://twitter.com/MedievalGinger/status/1001567598499303425 …

My apartment is part of a large complex, accessed by a single dead-end driveway (branching off into many parking lots). People don't drive fast on that driveway since it's useless as a shortcut, but the mgmt opted to play it safe and put a fuckton of very steep speed bumps on it

The speedbumps mainly damage cars, with no serious impact on driving speeds. If they really wanted people to drive carefully through the driveway, they would be better off making it a lot narrower! A dead-end access road doesn't need to be 32' curb to curb

Driving on a state highway, whipping along at 50mph, and suddenly you're in a town center and a cop is pulling you over for not dropping to 25mph...even though the road has exactly the same dimensions that it did in the woods, wide enough to safely operate at 80, let alone 50!

What pedestrians lmao they spread everything so far apart that walking is almost always the domain of the desperate (like me)
