question 1. What does abolish the suburbs mean? -
It doesn't mean anything. They live in the city and said at the RNC that a Congressional candidate who lives in the suburbs wants to abolish the suburbs.

Minor point... they actually live in the city of St. Louis, BUT the same forces that formed the suburbs helped to maintain racial segregation in the area where they live in the city.
