It's a good sound byte, but I'm really interested in whether they meant "as an agreement between analysts" it isn't, or if they meant that it isn't (even when codified in contracts) because discovery, or something else.

The TL;dr: “cool story guys. This doesn’t actually protect anything when it comes to discovery or subpoena.” Another point was raised: imagine having your Jupyter notebook subpoenaed/put on legal hold/subject to discovery. Plan for the worst and outcomes are likely better.
