a minor conspiracy I totally believe in is that the TSA liquids rule is fully a ploy by nestle and coke etc to force us to buy bottled water on the other side of security and that there’s nearly zero threat reduced by it

Amtrak’s new train cars are based on the same basic design as ÖBB’s (Austria’s) new Nightjet trains, which are the world standard for modern sleeping cars and cross Europe every night. That product (and model) could be a winner on many corridors in the US.

Spending a lot of money on new cars for long-distance lines that have low ridership, are unprofitable, and vastly unperform relative to air travel seems like bad resource prioritization for Amtrak travelandleisure.com/amtrak-upgrade

minivan pulls up at 6th and Bergen and parks in narrow no standing zone. cop gets out and I say “you might get a ticket parking there” his response? “You want to write it? I’ll get you a pen. Mind your business. this is why cops don’t like people like you..”

the people who think it’s important to point out that HO is “only” 30% jewish should challenge themselves to list off how many other American cities are 30% jewish

I’ve now seen prominent accounts say that Highland Park is “only” 30% Jewish. Let’s be clear: much of the North Shore area of Chicago suburbs is not only heavily Jewish but *known* for its Jewish enclaves. This is why they’ve been targeted in the past. This must be discussed.

Tip for visitors to Brazil - it is rude to "slam" the door of someone's car (shut it with any force whatsoever). You must make a show of closing it as softly as possible. It is not rational - and this is precisely what makes it an act of politeness. It is like bowing; just do it

friends, I’m having some surgery to correct an issue with my spine tomorrow morning (it’s squeezing my spinal cord in a way it shouldn’t). I know a lot is happening right now, but keep me in your thoughts, would ya?

this is significantly worse mileage than a ram TRX. Oshkosh must have designed it to pour a little gas on the ground every few feet.

USPS's new trucks from Oshkosh Defense: - get 8.6 mpg - use 110 million gallons of gasoline annually - are basically as polluting as USPS's current 30 year-old trucks EPA says USPS paid Oshkosh $482 million without doing any sort of analysis like this. washingtonpost.com/climate-enviro
