One of the reasons the US insisted upon this is because it fears the Javelins might find their way into Russian hands. Corruption remains a serious problem in Ukraine, and it’s not unfathomable that they could be sold on.

This is untrue. The Javelins are actually stored in western Ukraine - hundreds of kilometers from the Russian border. Also, there have been no tank battles in Ukraine since 2015, so they are more symbolic, than practical.pic.twitter.com/3QFowLHDnH
