I was hanging out with a friend during my 留学生 days & she had something she had to do. What she meant to say was I could do something fun by myself (自己玩儿). Some learners say “play by yourself” but she mixed up her prepositions & said “you can play WITH yourself (玩儿自己)”!
My first Chinese teacher had a moment as well. In my 2nd semester learning, she was giving us an exam involving speaking & writing. We started on the written questions while she did some last minute prep & then announced “OK, are you ready for the oral? I can take two at a time!”
The possible double meaning was definitely unintentional, though!
