Listening 👂 to ’s podcast about 4’33”, walking around my local lake park, devoid of other people, in the dense fog, with my new noise cancelling headphones 🎧. Couldn’t get a better way to listen to a discussion about silence 😊

  4. People who’ve performed their podcast live: what app do you run your AV from? I’m looking for something with the audio flexibility of ’s , but the visual ability of Keynote. Any tips?

I listen to podcast so I don’t have to listen to the music and chatter in the restaurant. They play 4’33” by John Cage so I can hear the music and the chatter in the restaurant. They’re the best audio trolls.

  7. John Cage was a respected composer when, in 1952, he created his “silent piece”, 4’33’’ - a piece that would have the music world scratching their heads.

Don’t think there’s been enough focus on how much more mentally exhausting meetings are now w /the poor acoustics of meeting spaces. I find myself drained after an hour

  11. We have an upcoming episode about the history of toy sounds + how they’ve become dangerously loud over recent years. We need a good title for it. Any ideas?

Just attended to my private 4'33" performance. I heard of this piece in high school and again in college, and I always considered it cheeky and interesting. But with my life right now, and your great episode, I really REALLY dug it.

Portions of the pro audio community are up in arms about Billie Eilish using an inexpensive mic in a bedroom and getting all the Grammys. I find it pretty hilarious.

The whirr of the heating system. A lady speaking on the phone next to me in another language. The stops announced in a monotone recorded voice, one at a time... My unique experience of John Cage's 4'33 happened on a TTC streetcar this morning. Thank you .
