Thank you from Edmonton, @20committee. Canada stood alone against Saudi Arabia, but is glad of USA, Australia, Germany, UK and EU coming to our side to protest Beijing’s arrest of innocent Cdns; and all at the request of US for extradition of Huawei exec.

But wait, didn’t Canada take Meng Wanzhou at the request of the USA for “violating” trump’s US sanctions on Iran? Isn’t the real thug trump?
-
The request was honoured by Canada to hold Meng Wangzhou until a Cdn court decides if the request can be lawfully granted. She’s under house arrest in Vancouver. If political interference occurred, she’ll be released

Has the White House made any statement at all about this?
-
Trump has indicated he might want to turn this into a bargaining chip for his trade war, because he's sick and disgusting. Other than that, it hasn't received any coverage in the US that I have witnessed.

Some information as to what Trump is doing to 'help' matters (aka turn it into yet another self-serving opportunity).https://www.smh.com.au/business/markets/donald-trump-s-deplorable-intervention-over-huawei-20181220-p50ned.html …

Friends. I was frightened for my country. I kept my eyes scanning the buildings. When we rounded by the Newseum, a huge deafening cheer went up. It reverbed down thru the crowd. Glum had turned to resolve...every single Canadian stood outside your embassy and cheered us on. 2.

Until that point, I had felt abandoned. I know history too well. But we neared your embassy, each of your country me cheered us on. I knew we were no longer alone. Words cannot express how thankful/grateful I was at that moment.

*each of your countrymen cheered us on <sigh>

I will tell you right now. We will ALWAYS cheer you on. Just so you know, busloads of Canadians went to Washington for that March. We marched with you in the thousands in every city in Canada, too.

If we don't stand up to them now, the Chinese thugs will have bases in 70+ countries abroad, which is unacceptable and unprecedented.
