Wow! One weird trick to enable JTAG on iPhone XR!
(1) Remove old A12 SoC from regular iPhone XR
(2) Program and unfuse(?) new A12 SoC
(3) Solder new A12 SoC
(4) ???
(5) Profit!
Hardware haxx FTW! @msolnik was right.

Disclaimer: I do not know what is being done. There are hints that it might not be what it seems to be. It looks interesting, but hardware modification is outside of my area of expertise. I found out about this site from
@s1guza's tweet. Buyer beware.1 reply 0 retweets 52 likesShow this thread -
They install SoCs that are already 00, as you can see the SoC has no label on it. New SoCs (prod ones) have the proper label. Here is an example of Development fused SoCspic.twitter.com/XFl1O5Z0vF

That's what I was thinking, although whether or not they are manufacturing, or sourcing them isn't exactly clear to me.

I think they published that detailed page just to say ‘hey we aren’t using stolen stuff, we produce those’

They are installing already 00 A12 chips, they're converting 03 fused into 00? They are manufacturing in house, converting chips, and marking them as such?

they just show they ‘convert the fuse’ but in my opinion they don’t.
