There is still a *very* valid reason apple encrypts iBoot itself, though.

Creates extra work to run it on insecure devices. CPFM 00 devices will boot untrusted images, but will not decrypt any untrusted images. Imagine if iBoot and SEP images were unencrypted in stock firmware...

i'm not sure what you mean by "untrusted images" you can decrypt any iBoot image on cpfm00 you can also boot any iBoot image on cpfm00, & afaik if the AES engine is running it will decrypt it itself for you

Well, patching iBoot actually, otherwise it will check CS in 00 And 01 too
