I've been able to find .40 where/when there's been no 9mm at all. It's snappy, but I've come to prefer it, so I vote stick with 40 if you're accustomed to it. Plus, if you want to get real dorky and reload, you can use bullets for 10mm... Which ofc leads to buying more guns...
