Black activists are leading chants with a megaphone "Who's lives matter? Black lives matter!" "No cops! No prison! Total abolition!" Sometimes it takes the world a second to catch up to new realities. We stand in a section of the old world that is rapidly ceasing to exist

The chants ar lackluster. A lot of silence. People absorbing, perhaps, what has just happened, as I am It's hard to know how much of this is projection. Reeling, standing here in IV plate, waiting for the very literal force of the new world to come crashing down on us

A car attempts to come through the crowd and is turned around. The driver may have consumed substances. Nothing terribly menacing all things considered

The crowd has occupied the intersection at 3rd and Main. Some music is playing. Some people move behind the JC. I'll follow them. Why not

We're behind the JC now. WAP playing. The cops leave the JC and people shout at the car People start dancing in the middle of the street It feels like that thing where the chicken has its head cut off and doesn't know it yet
