My favorite statue in Portland. He looks so solomn, like the weight of the world rests on him, like he fully feels the impossibility of addressing America's original sin Lincoln was FAR FROM PERFECT, but this makes me sad and no one can stop me from feeling sad about it

He probably was thinking about all the indigenous people he killed and hung while in the millitary and as president... Or how he wished he hadn't been forced to "free" the slaves. Aesthetically, I also liked the statue he looked nice. But my man was a grade-a certified pos.
