It's absurd that I'm taking videos of these violent arrests and cops shoving people and macing them and I'm thinking, I've taken all these videos before a thousand times And I could take a thousand more and it still won't be enough to convince way too many people

I think officers are allowed to search a arrestee’a belongings because they are in the custody of the police. Ie if they arrested, personal items have to be searched for contraband, weapons or even personal items to be inventoried and documented.

yeah, I think they can search weapons, but what gets me here is them cutting the straps off the bag before searching, which is clearly unnecessary.
