I'm never gonna get over the way this community pulls together. How it just steps the hell up when people need something. No top-down structures, no 501c3s, just people who have things helping people who don't We take care of us It's beautiful
These are the same people who protest every night. You think they're destroying the community? They're CREATING community Portland is far from perfect, Lord knows, but I love living here
If you want to help, the EWOKS are taking donations at the parking lot next to Holladay Park They also need volunteers for the late night/early morning shifts. Reach out to them if that's something you're intohttps://twitter.com/PDXEWOKS/status/1305197332447686656?s=19 …
And if you need something? Please go down there and get it
So many of us look at this stuff and think, no, that's not for me. It's for you. You, reading this: the person who needs things
Go down there and get what you need
What the fuck are you talking about? This is people giving what they have for people that need it? All orchestrated by volunteers, not some organization that is taking a share from the top.
If there is stuff they can't use, the Portland @SierraClub is bringing a truck down to Talent next week (where hundreds of farmworker families lost everything), their office for donations is SE 18th and Ankeny
This is what goodwill should be
