For what it's worth she is angry and confrontational because she cares about all the humans who fall into these cults. Her finding out anyone laughs at them gets her blood boiling. It's a tough love sorta thing. Now hopefully I don't get kicked in the shins for saying this.
I've reached a point in my life where, if someone treats me poorly, I don't spend a lot of time trying to figure out their internal motivations for doing so. I simply move on
