This incident has shaken me. I pride myself on bravery but what happened today was cowardice The truth is, I've been virtually non-functional for a while now. I'm not really sleeping. I don't really eat unless someone makes me. I feel nauseous most of the time
I thought I could gut my way through it but clearly it's begun to affect my judgment and ability to stand strong against all the shit raining down on us I'm truly sorry for this. I am ashamed
I'm going to take a few days off from Twitter and the protests. Try to recover to the point where I can be useful again. I will be back by Friday Solidarity forever
Faltering in the face of months of daily abuse and constant action is nothing to be ashamed of.
It's important you recognize you have needs that aren't being met because now you can attend to them. That's something most people only discover after the fact

Oh Laura... no no, do not be ashamed. After everything you've been doing, everything you've been seeing... not being able to "gut through" isn't weakness -- it's a testament to your empathy and humanity. You got this, and we're all together in solidarity. Rest up. 
No shame in being affected by what the world has thrown at you. Take time and recover, the fight will still be there when you are ready. 
Be nice to yourself. We all have breaking points. It’s good to know where the edge is but it hurts when you get there. I’ve got my breaking point many times and it does get better I can tell you, but never fun. Go easy and give yourself a break. 
There is greatness in knowing when to step back to mend yourself. We're not built to go w/out breaks. Be kind to yourself. You're doing amazing things.

It's ok. We're all swine here. You do really good work. I hope you can see that. I selfishly hope that you continue to want to do it. And I hope that you find structures for taking care of yourself amidst it. Maybe chalk it up to forced consciousness expansion.
