We have arrived once again at the PPA. Workers have re-boarded the broken boards from yesterdaypic.twitter.com/h9LI2nMN5m

The police forcibly prevent me from filming an arrest

The part at the end of that video is the cop forcibly stopping my phone from recording and trying to throw my phone on the ground. He told me I would go to jail if I didn't stop filming But he didn't arrest me. Because he fucking can't It's intimidation and I'm done with it
The group has been severely scattered. It was never big enough for this And that's the real reason it's been declared a riot: not because the crowd poses a danger, but because it doesn't. Because it's easy to bully
@45thabsurdist points out these protesters restoring this actual official road closure barricade after the police knocked them overpic.twitter.com/TYsaLdu1AE
Official police action. I assume parking is now fine wherever this sign came frompic.twitter.com/H3Q0TQ7lXV
I really can't imagine this group forming back up. It was so small and it is so scattered I've been wrong before though
Just spoke to some residents who came out to see what was going on. We explained. They were flabbergasted about the barricade destruction. "Those have been up for weeks for businesses to operate outside. Did they forget about COVID?!" "Well, they don't wear masks, so probably"
Back at the PPA where there are maybe 20 people. Even the police can't be assed. They speed by. One of them does the shaka shake as he drives by. 3 or 4 police cars, none of them use their turn signal. If only there was some public safety organization we could call about that
20 or 30 protesters have decided to resume chanting "black lives matter" next to the PPA: an activity which the LRAD immediately reminds everyone constitutes a riot
I would like to reiterate that this riot constitutes people shouting "black lives matter" and clapping in time to the chant
Police strike suddenly and with great speed. Many arrests They chase protesters down a side street, then chase. Then back up again. A protester is led away in zip cuffs. "You can't expect me to follow conflicting orders!" he exclaims
Sound on for this one. Heavenly Donuts is playing "America the Beautiful" while the police make mass arrestspic.twitter.com/l6AAgZiE20
Heavenly Donuts is now broadcasting an extremely good and informatively speech about Oregon's racist history and how that history mirrors the white supremacy of America as a whole This is incredible
An NLG rep screams not to talk to the cops and to demand a lawyer Your reminder that the best thing to say to a cop is nothinghttps://youtu.be/7XeJJtgbm2s
Receiving word that an elderly resident of the Kenton neighborhood was shot in the leg with a paintball round while she tried to restore the legal, official neighborhood barriers that the cops tore down
Someone throws a glass bottle at the cops. They flag the whole crowd with their weapons. No shots fired. Things remain tense The Heavenly Donuts speaker (which is apparently a protest speaker there with permission) begins to play Amazing Grace
The police leave. A truly astounding number of cop cars and riot vans head out. Everyone here should be deeply honored at how much of a threat they consider you
We just heard the LRAD again. Maybe 20 people out here total
@defendpdx photographer @cdsupriyadi captured this footage earlier of the arrest of a prominent black activist for the crime of using her megaphonehttps://twitter.com/cdsupriyadi/status/1292717276047671297?s=19 …
@PDocumentarians captured footage of that cop physically preventing me from filming that arrest. It's at about the 20-second mark
I'm the dork in the yellow vesthttps://twitter.com/PDocumentarians/status/1292703127053819904?s=09 …
We didn't want to broadcast the name of the activist arrested in @cdsupriyadi's footage before official booking went through, but:
Demetria Hester has been arrested
It appeared highly targeted
I am back at my car and headed home. The crowd has shrunk to the point that saving strength for another day seems sound Solidarity to everyone still out here
