Some people perceive gatherings like this as purposefully stirring up trouble. Not quite. It's a bunch of people exercising their right to demonstrate in a nonviolent way. Yes, they know it will antagonize the cops. That's the entire problem, and it's a problem worth highlighting

They turn up the volume and tell the protesters to stay off precinct property or else crowd control munitions arrest etc The LRAD is now down Burnside instead of within the precinct proper

As we walked back, residents stood on balconies and sidewalks watching Well, except for one couple who was extremely mad at the protesters for waking their children. As though the protesters wanted to sprint 7 blocks to their place while cops maced and beat them
