      Maybe I'm being harsh here, but: it's true that anti-fascists tend to be far left. A thought experiment: why is it that only the far left dependably and vehemently opposes fascism? One theory: liberalism and fascism are more compatible than most people would like to think

      It's also undeniably true that countries like China and the USSR have perpetrated atrocities So have industrial capitalist nations. See: colonialism There are some leftists who think the USSR was cool. We call them tankies and no one likes those guys

      Leftists mostly want to implement either anarchist or communist ideas in ways that DON'T kill millions of people. Use them to create a more just world It's not an easy thing, forging a path to something better. And certainly there have been catastrophic failures. But I have hope

      The European industrial revolution was fueled by colonialism: cheap resources acquired by force. Today, our cheap products come from slave labor, both from places like China and our own prisons

          It's like trying to get on top of a pyramid scheme. The problem isn't the people on top, it's the shape of the pyramid. We need a better way And I don't know what that way is. I need to read more. I just no longer think capitalism is that way
