Contact wearers! What are you doing to see at protests? I have a friend who can't wear glasses and wants to come to these protests. My instinct is she should not risk it. Thoughts?
This is what I do--goggles over glasses. The big danger with contacts is that tear gas can fuse them to your eyes and even blind you. Glasses have a shatter risk I suppose but I don't think it signifantly increases overall risk

less risk, and most lenses will not shatter, only crack and chip. polycarbonate and trivex material glasses lenses are impact resistant which is why US gov mandates they must be used in pediatric glasses. if you do not have a backup pair please get a cheap set. i can help w that.

I do the same, glasses under impact resistant goggles. I keep an older pair of glasses so those go to protests.
