If they quit who are going to respond to 911 calls who is gonna stop robbery investigate murder who is gonna do that I know police brutality is a major issue but that is a problem at training side so we have to make training for certain situations a certain way

A lot of different ideas about that, but very few people don't want to replace the police with something else. The idea isn't lawlessness, it's the establishment of organizations that actually protect and serve, instead of armed thugs with a history and culture of brutality

What I'd like to see is a bunch of different organizations replace the police. A department of domestic violence, trained specifically to deescalate and handle that type of dispute. A traffic department. Etc. No need for these orgs to carry guns: the job doesn't require it

And yeah, we're gonna need a violent crimes division. But it should be small, and all they should do is respond to violent crimes. That's it What we have now is an enormous org trained primarily to deal with violence that mostly deals with nonviolent situations. Bad for everyone
