What Trump actually did was show Portland that the PPB ain't shit compared to the feds. After going toe to toe with the feds and maintaining both composure and resolve, the PPB feels like nothing Trump didn't crush Portland protests, he just made us strongerhttps://twitter.com/keaton_thomas/status/1282748500782899200 …

i was just saying this this morning - after being gassed by the feds, PPB feels like nothing. i really really hope this is a shift to moving more protesting to alternative venues, other precincts, keeping at their union hall, etc.

Just a note to remind you that the feds can basically pop up anywhere in the city. Right now they're centralized downtown cuz that makes sense. Do they have a mandate to protect federal property broadly defined.

i believe border control has broad, unfettered jurisdiction due to 100 mile law. DHS, FPS, etc i *think* is limited to federal property unless there is an agreement with local authorities. the question is really what are their orders from Trump

the new PACT Force has a mandate to "protect" "monuments, statues, and property" which is basically "everything". like any DHS vehicle or any random USFWS office or lab.
