      Can't believe I'm debating mobility vs speed in my head again. It's been ten years The trade-off is going to be different for everyone. But as we each decide whether to buy plate carriers, ballistic helmets, etc, it's important to ask: can I run in this?

      This is NOT me discouraging armor in these fucked-up times. But ask yourself: hour 5 of a protest--standing and running from cops the whole time--will you be able to make that last sprint to avoid end-of-night arrests? For some people that's a yes, and they should buy armor

      Take it from a former soldier steeped in the toxic "gut through it, drink water, drive on" mentality: be aware of your own capabilities and make decisions accordingly Still fucking appalled and sickened that these are relevant questions for civilians and journalists right now

      An activist perhaps, but not a left-wing one from the looks of your twitter I have no doubt there are people who want that, but it is not a "big part of the movement" and this is not an honest question
