They arrested three journalists last night. They brutalized countless protesters. There was no justification for it: none. No lives were in danger when they flooded North Portland with tear gas and pumped rubber bullets into the crowd at point-blank range. This was illegal

This is untenable. So long as police get away with this, we live in an authoritarian state and none of us are free I feel terrible that I left after the first tear gassing. I heard from several people we were regrouping at the JC but I didn't even check to be sure before I left

I feel terrible that I left people behind to get gassed and arrested and charged with felony rioting for refusing to leave the street and protesting in a wholly nonviolent manner I am furious that this city I love has become a war zone

I feel terrible for everyone injured last night for exercising their human rights For everyone arrested for the same For everyone who inhaled tear gas and went to sleep with their skin burning For all of us
