They used so much more tear gas last night than they did to disrupt actual fighting in the streets two years ago. Not that they should have used it then. It's just interesting to see where their priorities lie

We could hear from the first LRAD announcement that the police wanted to fuck us up. Had already decided to. Unlawful assembly declared after maybe three water bottles were thrown, riot declared after massive police violence without resistance

They arrested three journalists last night. They brutalized countless protesters. There was no justification for it: none. No lives were in danger when they flooded North Portland with tear gas and pumped rubber bullets into the crowd at point-blank range. This was illegal

This is untenable. So long as police get away with this, we live in an authoritarian state and none of us are free I feel terrible that I left after the first tear gassing. I heard from several people we were regrouping at the JC but I didn't even check to be sure before I left

I feel terrible that I left people behind to get gassed and arrested and charged with felony rioting for refusing to leave the street and protesting in a wholly nonviolent manner I am furious that this city I love has become a war zone
