Looks like we're gonna pay East Portland a visit! Heading over the Morrison Bridge

Crowd less into chants tonight than usual. They're happening, but more people are quiet than usual

An argument over whether we should be going over the bridge or not. "This is what they want us to do!!" This happens every time we move away from the Justice Center. The argument has merit I'm being told we are the reinforcements for an action already underway on East Side

(For what it's worth I think switching it up is good. Keep the piggies on their toes, wondering what we'll do this time)

Going to Revolution Hall, it seems

Revolution hall is a music festival. Rainbow lights, pounding music, lots of people. The group that was going to being people back to the JC seems to have melted into the celebration

A lot of people not wearing masks

Back at the justice center, where the vibe could not be more different. Unlawful assembly just declared

"look where Rose City got you. Let this be a lesson to you. Rose City put us in this mess! Tag their asses. Get them on the phone. Let them know. This is a fucked up situation they put us in. Where the fuck is Rose City?!" -black organizer on the megaphone in front of the JC

Chants of ACAB. crowd control weapons pointed directly at the crowd

Sirens. The crowd begins to move

We've been pushed to 6th Avenue, which is where we were told to go. The police looked ready to push us farther but now seem to be leaving. LRAD lady still ordering us to disperse to the west past 6th avenue. Well, she's got half her wish for now

Crowd hesitates at the intersection. Uncertain what to do next

Heated debate: Pioneer Square or Justice Center? After a lot of back and forth, the crowd decides justice center. We get maybe a block before the police come at us yet again. Leisurely pace. They don't seem terribly hungry for arrests tonight. Back to 6th

Smoke, no tear gas yet. Flash bang. We're numb to both at this point

Police withdraw from 6th once more and the protest is on the move, away from the arbitrarily-closed area. Man on the megaphone continues to emphasize Rose City Justice's absence. I'm not sure what went down or what promises were made, but he has an undeniable point

The crowd is robust despite this: at least 200

"slow in the front!" The crowd instantly stops to let everyone catch up. "Grandma speed!" Someone shouts. "Like fifty grandmas, that's how we need to walk. Grandmas without Facebook! That speed." We get better every single night

I can never decide whether I like "War Crime Wheeler" or "Tear Gas Teddy" better as a chant

Another debate about where to go next. This beautiful group just took a vote by applause. Results inconclusive. More debate A decision is reached. Not everyone is happy, but the majority are abiding by it (Sorry PPB, I'm not gonna give the results away)

A pop to the right. Everyone tenses and looks...then laughs. 'its kinda fucked up,' someone comments. I'm never entirely sure this whole thing isn't some kind of veteran fever dream, the parallels are numerous and strong

Police lights a few blocks ahead. The chants change instantly. "Stay together, stay tight!" "Whose streets? Our streets!"

As we approach the Justice center yet again, LRAD lady orders us to disperse

Cops lines up at Salmon--the Northern boundary of the exclusion zone. Another face-off.
