How does property damage help the situation? It isn't caring more about that than murder, it's saying this behavior isn't advancing justice. This man's murder was horrific! But riots, fires, looting, and damage do not help.
If our standard is helping the situation: how do thoughts, prayers, op-eds, peaceful protest, petitions, and all the other shit we've been trying for decades help the situation? Most importantly for our current moment: how does hand-wringing over riots help the situation?
