The only difference between criminals and the police is that violence practiced by the police is state sanctioned. And it doesn't seem to matter much whose on the receiving end of that violence as far as the state is concerned.
The people on the receiving end of state violence are more likely to be poor and/or black, indigenous, or otherwise of color. That's not an accident and can't be overlooked I certainly agree that the police perpetrate criminal violence with state sanction
True. Another thing that's obvious for anyone with their eyes open far enough is that the police serve those in power rather than the public. Petty criminals get locked up while the grand criminals own corporations and occupy the highest positions of power in both parties.
