The D’s *might* listen if enough voters show them that this arrogance cost them votes (into 3rd parties or abstaining). A voter taking this view accepts short term pain for potential long term gain. But will likely have to endure the wrath of other liberals in the meantime.
The only real question is: does a Trump 2nd term jeopardize the existence of a long term? This isn't rhetorical, nor is it an endorsement. I won't be voting for Biden but my decision is easy, I live in Oregon, my vote doesn't count Hostage situations are hard

1) Good question. I think his 2nd term is unlikely and even if happened, would only mildly change the unfortunate trajectory we’re already one. 2) I live in a purple state and I doubt my vote will make a difference. So I’ll vote regardless of others’ expected votes.
