All right I have too many followers so here's my hot fucking take: if you don't like Contrapoints that's completely fine and your right as a human, but the performative hate every time she launches a video is stupid. And I do mean stupid, as in it doesn't make any fucking sense

There's a 1-minute clip circulating from her latest video where she cringes at a trans woman who does not pass, for not passing. Yikes If the clip went on even a minute longer though, it would become obvious that Contra presents this reaction as bad, something she's not proud of

The video is an hour and a half long and people have taken a minute out at the 40 minute mark, presented entirely without context, and offered it up as a way to performatively hate something without watching it, and it's gross

If Contra isn't your thing that's ok. Just because something isn't your thing doesn't make it an abomination before your woke God There should be space to talk about complicated, bad, and harmful gender feels. It's ok to struggle with that stuff actually, at least I sure hope so
