I'm sure this person means well but I hate this kind of flex Did you know young kids grow up believing whatever they're told to believe? Did you know--and this is true--that no one asked me even once whether I wanted to be born into a far-right family?https://twitter.com/ScarletDani161/status/1257618860477472768 …

If you were fortunate enough to grow up with parents who didn't teach you that, say, trans people are perverts with mental disorders, or that European culture is the only moral culture, congratulations and how nice for you. It doesn't make you better. It makes you lucky

What do you think turned it around for you? And how old were you when the process started? (Just curious, of course no obligation/expectation to answer)

No quick answer for that--someday I'm gonna make a video about it Abridged version: saw the Afghanistan debacle firsthand, met people from the groups I looked down on, had a LOT of arguments and conversations with people that probably felt like they went nowhere at the time

It took me until my mid-20s to really start to change, but the process started much earlier--16 or so

It’s particularly interesting to me that you mentioned the conversations that probably seemed fruitless to the other party. That encourages me to keep up with things that often feel like a waste of time. Not sure that’s a good thing LOL.
