Is the argument only about stock portfolios? People in my circles are losing their jobs in the dozens because entire industries are struggling not to collapse. That’s way more serious than “oh no, my retirement account!”
We have all these lamp posts and yet not a single one is currently suspending the body of someone openly discussing killing 2% of the population to save their stock portfolio All I'm saying is, if we're going to become barbarians with no regard for human life, they can go first

This discussion is starting to polarize in a really unhelpful way (I know... it's Twitter). I do think our fear of poverty is leading some to consider a path that will bring us not just mass death, but more poverty in the long run.
