This is off-brand, but I made a video about why I think you should stock up on (NOT HOARD) food as soon as you can.
Mostly I made it for Facebook friends who don't appreciate what kind of emergency we're facing, but I'm posting it here too:

For some of us this comes way too late, but it seems like things are moving more slowly outside of major cities so maybe not Stocking up on essentials (food and medicine) to last 1-2 months is the best thing you can do not just for yourself but for your community

If panic hasn't reached your area yet, it probably will very soon. What we've seen with toilet paper will spread to more essential items. Grocery stores will be both crowded and unsafe when this happens. You can relieve the crowding by shopping now

As this illness spreads, grocery stores are a great place to catch this illness, even if they stay open and even if there are no food disruptions. Moreover, if YOU get sick, you'll want the option of staying home and not infecting more people

Long-term, real food disruptions are very possible. Our supply net is fragile, and if enough workers get sick it may break down. What we're seeing now is panic buying despite ample food. Imagine what things would look like with actual shortages

Finally, anyone unprepared will be left depending on the government in an emergency Think about the people in charge of the government right now Do you trust this administration to distribute food fairly, without favoritism? I don't

This video is about a week too late. It took me two days to complete, which is as fast as I've ever completed a video, but the world is moving faster. But I keep hearing from Facebook friends in middle America that things aren't as bad out there. Maybe this can reach them in time
