Was thinking about this again today and something else occurred to me. The original title for "Atlas Shrugged" was "The Strike," and the book is chock full of elites who prey upon the common people in all sorts of ways.

It could easily set one on a path to left-wing radicalization if it did not come packaged with a hefty dose of false consciousness, in that the predatory elites are opposed and defeated by other elites. (And it certainly does lay a lot of misplaced blame on the people as well.)
